BMW E3 – The beginning of the sporty luxury class.

With the E3 series, BMW launched a completely new sedan class in 1968 – powerful, elegant, and dynamic. The "big six-cylinder" engines like the 2500, 2800, and 3.0 Si made the E3 a sporty alternative to Mercedes – and paved the way for the later 7 Series.
