To transport air to the brake ventilation outlet, a suitable inlet is essential.
The F87 M2 does not have intake ducts in the front bumper from the factory like the Competition, so we have utilized the airflow behind the side radiators. To prevent the air from swirling randomly in the wheel arch after passing the radiators, we developed an air duct that can be installed with minimal effort. It guides the air around the wheel and connects an outlet via a 40 cm long hose (per side) to effectively cool the brakes. Our tests have shown that this does not create significant back pressure behind the radiator, and in cases of extreme speeds and increasing pressure, the ducts are equipped with lateral ventilation slots.
Air Duct Outlet:
The suitable backing plates with a connection for central air flow.
We channel the airflow to the center of the brake disc to utilize the turbine effect for cooling the disc from the inside. We specifically direct the air at an angle to avoid dispersion losses and maximize the efficiency of the available air volume.
Due to its lightweight construction combined with powdered aluminum, the component is sufficiently strong yet light and robust.
