Adaptation kit suitable for E30 with E36 | E46 | Z3 steering rack BMW

The spacers are needed to install the more direct steering rack from the E36, E46, or Z3 into the BMW E30 .

The included screws and nuts correspond to the originals.

The spacers are made of aluminum and are therefore not susceptible to corrosion.

Scope of delivery:

• 2x spacers for top, 6.4 mm thick
• 2x spacers for bottom, 7.4 mm thick
• 2x hex head screws with flange – yellow zinc plated
• 2x hex nuts with flange – yellow zinc plated

Background: The E30 steering racks are anything but comfortable. 4 ¼ turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock were standard at the time. The E36 steering rack, with 3 ½ turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock, is designed to be significantly more direct. Structurally, the racks are almost identical; only the mounting block on the E30 is higher. To maintain the original positioning of the steering rack, differently sized spacers are therefore required between the axle carrier and the steering rack.

NOTE:
If we do not explicitly mention a parts certificate (Teilegutachten) or a general operating permit (ABE) in the product text, this is a motorsport item that is not approved under the German Road Traffic Act (StVO) and thus invalidates the operating permit if no registration is made according to § 21 StVO!
