KW Suspensions

KW Automotive, founded in 1992 in Murrhardt (Swabia) by the brothers Klaus and Jürgen Wohlfarth, originally started as a retail store under the name KW Tuning on only 75 m² of space  As early as 1995, they developed the first height-adjustable coilover suspension, which was presented at the Essen Motor Show and approved by the TÜV (Technical Inspection Authority). In the following years, the company relocated to Fichtenberg and renamed KW Automotive GmbH in 1998, with approximately 1,050 m² of production and warehouse space at the time.

Innovation & Technology

  • KW is one of the pioneers in continuously height-adjustable shock absorbers and manufacturer-independent development in the field of coilover dampers.
  • The introduction of the Variant 3 in 2001 was groundbreaking, with separately adjustable compression and rebound stages – a revolution for sporty and comfortable chassis tuning.
  • Beginning in 2002: Stainless steel or aluminum housing for all KW dampers – more corrosion protection and durability  .
