Do you have questions about this product?
EDC OFF refers to the software-based deactivation of BMW's Electronic Damper Control (EDC) system.
This solution is required when:
• EDC dampers are removed and replaced with conventional coilovers
• The original EDC system is defective or no longer needed
• Warning lights, fault codes, or limp modes occur due to missing EDC components
By disabling EDC in the vehicle software:
• All related fault codes are permanently removed
• Dashboard warning lights are eliminated
• The vehicle operates cleanly without error messages or system interference
Why EDC OFF is necessary
Without proper deactivation, the vehicle continuously monitors the EDC system. If components are missing or non-functional, it will trigger:
• Fault codes in the chassis module
• Warning messages in the instrument cluster
• Reduced driving comfort or system limitations
EDC OFF ensures a clean, OEM-like integration of aftermarket suspension setups.
